Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, known for its commitment to crafting the world’s finest coffee while creating meaningful connections in communities worldwide. Founded with the mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time, Starbucks has grown into a beloved brand that stands for quality, innovation, and social responsibility. The company prides itself not only on its high-quality coffee offerings but also on its dedication to fostering a warm and welcoming environment where customers can enjoy a premium coffee experience alongside exceptional service. It operates thousands of stores globally, serving as a community hub where diverse groups of people connect and share moments of joy.

As a shift supervisor at Starbucks, you will hold a vital leadership position that bridges the gap between store management and the customer-facing team. This role emphasizes both the craft of coffee making and the art of creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages community connection. Your role will involve supervising day-to-day store operations, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable. You will lead by example, promoting the company’s values, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and supporting your team’s growth and development. The position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for coffee culture, and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.

This role is typically full-time and offers competitive compensation based on the geographic location of the store, with pay starting at the entry point of the salary range. Starbucks is committed to offering extensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation accrual, and education programs like 100% tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online platform. Partners at Starbucks also enjoy a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, stock purchase programs, emergency savings incentives, and more. The company also provides support for backup care and DACA reimbursement, demonstrating its broader commitment to partner wellness and financial stability.

The position demands availability for flexible working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and nights; consistent attendance; and adherence to company policies spanning product quality, cash handling, and safety. Ideal candidates have at least six months of experience in customer service roles and leadership responsibilities such as delegating tasks or coordinating employees. The shift supervisor actively engages in food and beverage preparation, coaching team members to meet recipe standards and accommodate custom orders. Importantly, Starbucks fosters an inclusive workplace where all partners receive equal consideration regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, or status, supporting reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities.

As a shift supervisor, you will play an essential role in maintaining Starbucks’ reputation for excellence. Your leadership will ensure that the coffeehouse serves as a vibrant community space where every visit offers customers a meaningful moment. This position represents an outstanding opportunity to grow your skills and career within a world-renowned brand dedicated to sustainability, diversity, and partner empowerment.
