PCA operates one of the leading corrugated packaging businesses, dedicated to assisting customers both large and small in effectively packaging, transporting, and displaying products of diverse kinds. Moreover, PCA's white paper business delivers "Paper With Purpose," underlining the company’s commitment to providing exceptional customer service and operational excellence. With approximately 15,000 dedicated team members scattered across more than 100 locations throughout the United States, PCA prides itself on its ability to meet local customer needs while maintaining a broader corporate mission. This mission is focused on serving customer requirements today and tomorrow with products and services that consistently exceed expectations for performance and environmental responsibility.

The company culture revolves around core values such as People, Customers, and Trust, which together drive PCA's engagement with its workforce and clientele. The company operates in a fast-paced, competitive manufacturing industry where efficiency, safety, and innovation are paramount. By valuing collaboration and continuous improvement, PCA ensures its long-term leadership in the packaging sector.

The Shift Supervisor role at PCA is strategically important within the corrugated production team. This position requires strong leadership skills to effectively manage a production team, ensuring efficient and safe operations in producing corrugated products. The Shift Supervisor coordinates closely with the production manager to plan daily and weekly schedules that meet production goals while maintaining high standards of quality. This role is responsible for prioritizing work orders, maintaining an even workflow across various departments, and minimizing downtime to maximize productivity.

Shift Supervisors are entrusted with scheduling work, coordinating production activities, supervising employees, and ensuring adherence to company policies. They actively participate in employee development, including making recommendations related to hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment is a critical responsibility, as is ensuring that health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all team members. Training is another vital aspect of this role, involving ongoing education on equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations, and waste control.

Further, the Shift Supervisor analyzes production performance, identifies areas for improvement, and recommends enhancements to processes and equipment. They also inspect machinery and materials, anticipate potential malfunctions, participate in production meetings, and request necessary resources to keep the production line operating smoothly. The role demands a combination of technical knowledge, organizational skills, interpersonal communication, and the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities.

This position offers a competitive starting salary in the range of $65,000 to $80,000 annually, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Additional benefits include three weeks of paid vacation per year, paid holidays, various medical and insurance benefits available shortly after employment, and automatic enrollment in a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions. PCA promotes equal employment opportunities and encourages qualified candidates to apply through their official career portal.
