The role of Shift Supervisor at Tasty Chick'n is pivotal to the restaurant's operational success. This position supports the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing the daily production targets and ensuring adherence to the company’s guiding principles, including quality standards, food safety, customer satisfaction, and financial management. The Shift Supervisor acts as a role model, embodying the brand’s values while leading a team to deliver superior service and operational efficiency. The position is non-exempt and requires flexibility with scheduling, including availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.

As a Shift Supervisor, the individual will be responsible for coaching and developing staff, ensuring compliance with performance management systems, and maintaining a safe and customer-focused environment. This role demands strong leadership capabilities combined with a hands-on approach to managing food production, inventory, and customer service. Additionally, the Shift Supervisor works closely with the General Manager to analyze sales and profit margins, facilitating the implementation of marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost customer engagement and revenue.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in restaurant operations or food service management with a proven track record in supervisory roles. They should be skilled in using point-of-sale systems, managing inventory, and analyzing controllable expenses. Moreover, candidates with food safety certifications such as ServSafe, along with training in customer service and conflict resolution, will excel in this role.

The Shift Supervisor must demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and conflict resolution skills, while fostering an inclusive and respectful team environment. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • additional food safety certifications are a plus
  • training in customer service and conflict resolution is advantageous
  • minimum of one year experience in restaurant operations, food service management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • proven track record of success in a supervisory role within the restaurant or retail environment
  • experience in training and developing employees
  • familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software
  • previous experience in inventory management and cost control practices
  • exposure to marketing initiatives and promotional activities
  • continuous improvement mindset with ongoing personal and team development
  • participation in industry-related professional organizations or networking groups

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate Tasty Chick'n's guiding values while assisting the Restaurant General Manager in building high-performing employees by training, coaching, and recognizing A+ talent utilizing Tasty Chick'n's tools and processes
  • Execute the Performance Management process consistently to ensure employees are set up for success and held accountable
  • Partner with the Restaurant General Manager to resolve all employee relations activities while maintaining legal compliance in the restaurant
  • Work a schedule to ensure that all day parts are being observed, i.e., opening, lunch, dinner, overnight, and weekends
  • Drive a customer-focused culture by serving as a role model in resolving serious customer issues
  • Coach and assist the Restaurant General Manager in holding all service team members accountable for core operational procedures through the use of the OSM and Company systems
  • Assist the Restaurant General Manager in monitoring metrics and inventory management
  • Ensure that food safety standards are met through direct observation while running shifts
  • Partner with the General Manager to ensure that restaurant projections and marketing initiatives are in place and being implemented
  • Partner with the Restaurant General Manager to analyze inventory and controllables on a continual basis and take specific corrective action to meet or achieve margin and cost of goods targets
  • Assist the Restaurant General Manager in ensuring that the restaurant is compliant with Federal, State, and Local requirements
