The Shift Manager role at Fresh Dining Concepts is a critical position within the airport operations team that demands leadership, operational knowledge, and a strong customer focus. This role involves managing daily store operations during assigned shifts at multiple airport locations, ensuring that every aspect of the operation aligns with the company’s stringent standards, brand protocols, and regulatory compliance. The Shift Manager supervises, motivates, and coaches team members to deliver high-quality products and superior service while maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient workplace.

Working in a dynamic airport environment, this position requires flexibility, agility, and a high degree of professionalism. The Shift Manager will oversee the preparation of signature products from Auntie Anne's, Cinnabon, and Jamba Juice, such as fresh dough, smoothies, lemonade, and other specialty items. They are responsible for maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, using and monitoring kitchen equipment properly, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the workspace. Given the nature of airport operations, the Shift Manager must exhibit exceptional time management skills to navigate high guest volumes and tight service windows effectively.

Additionally, this role requires managing cash handling procedures, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, inventory controls, and closing and opening store protocols with a focus on accuracy and security. Compliance with TSA security directives, airport regulations, health codes, and company policies is mandatory. The Shift Manager also plays a vital role in supporting sales growth through suggestive selling, upselling, and outstanding customer service, all while responding quickly and professionally to any guest concerns. Strong communication and coordination with other managers and leadership teams ensure operational smoothness across different shifts and locations.

The ideal candidate will bring 1 to 3 years of experience in food service or retail environments, preferably with supervisory or leadership experience. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain airport security clearance and food handler certification. They will possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills and demonstrate a capacity to train and inspire a team under busy conditions. This role demands physical endurance for standing, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks, along with a flexible schedule that includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related food service or retail experience
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance/badge
  • Current or ability to obtain food handler certification
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

  • Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift 50+ pounds, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in food service or retail, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance/badge

  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Previous experience managing or supervising in an airport, travel plaza, or high-volume environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with multiple concepts/brands in a single location is preferred
  • Experience with inventory management, scheduling support, and performance coaching is preferred
  • Comfort using tablets, handheld devices, and retail technology systems is preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise and lead Team Members during assigned shifts to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, and/or Jamba Juice products, including dough, lemonade, butter, dips, yogurt, fresh fruit, smoothies, bowls, and juices
  • Ensure all products meet brand standards for quality, taste, appearance, and food safety
  • Monitor and operate ovens, warmers, blenders, mixers, and other equipment safely and correctly
  • Assign tasks, manage breaks, and deploy staff effectively to meet airport traffic demands
  • Coach, motivate, and provide real-time feedback to team members to promote performance and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with TSA, airport authority, health department, OSHA, and company regulations
  • Manage cash handling, POS transactions, shift counts, and basic inventory controls
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally, recognizing the time-sensitive nature of airport travelers
  • Actively support suggestive selling and upselling to drive sales and improve check averages
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed accurately, including cleanliness, equipment setup/breakdown, and security protocols
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
  • Ensure all team members are in proper uniform and wearing required airport identification badges
  • Maintain punctuality and dependability for shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Communicate effectively with other managers and leadership regarding staffing, performance, and operational needs
  • Uphold and enforce Fresh Dining Concepts, LLC policies and procedures
