The company is recognized for its commitment to fostering a culture of engagement, inclusion, and professional growth, supporting associates with competitive wages, extensive benefits, and ample opportunities for advancement. HMSHost prides itself on creating a positive work environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally, embodying a spirit of teamwork and passion for guest service. The company's management philosophy centers on coaching and development, enabling managers to support their teams to succeed while maintaining fun and rewarding workspaces.

This role, Manager II (MGRII), is pivotal within HMSHost’s operational structure, primarily focused on assisting branch management to efficiently oversee and operate restaurant units under the company's umbrella. The Manager II ensures that restaurants are consistently clean, well-staffed, and operating according to high standards that align with HMSHost’s policies and procedures. The position demands tactical execution of complex operations within quick service or casual dining establishments, requiring a blend of leadership, operational, and customer service skills. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with beverage policies, participating in hiring and personnel management, and overseeing daily operational checklists such as opening, closing, and various business procedures.

The MGRII is expected to actively manage day-to-day activities including staff scheduling, assigning work, ensuring breaks and meal periods are observed, and maintaining the overall visual appeal and cleanliness of service and display areas. Additionally, the manager will ensure equipment functionality and compliance with health, safety, and wellness standards. Cash handling and security are also critical components of the role, including operating cash registers and following strict company procedures during transactions. Managing inventory by placing orders, receiving goods, and processing invoices is a fundamental part of ensuring smooth restaurant operations.

This position operates as a non-exempt role under the Fair Labor Standards Act and typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a higher-level Food & Beverage Multi Unit Manager. The MGRII must be adaptable to a varied and rotating work schedule, which includes opening, peak operational hours, and closing shifts. This schedule ensures appropriate on-site coverage to supervise restaurant workers effectively at all times. The role requires a minimum of four years of experience in food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service roles, alongside at least two years in a supervisory or team lead position within casual dining or a production kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills to understand and convey company policies, engage with customers effectively, and collaborate with their team members. In addition to operational competencies, the applicant must be familiar with federal, state, and local sanitation and safety standards, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) compliance.

HMSHost encourages a positive energy-driven candidate who is passionate about serving others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys teamwork, and embraces continuous learning and professional growth.
