The company fosters a culture of engagement, appreciation, inclusion, and care, where associates are encouraged to be the best version of themselves. HMSHost supports its workforce with competitive wages, robust benefits, and recognition for outstanding performance. This culture is built on a foundation of teamwork, fun, and mutual respect, making HMSHost a great place to grow professionally and personally.

The Manager II (MGRII) role at HMSHost is integral to the daily operations of Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), Casual Dine, or similar food service establishments. This position assists branch management by tactically executing complex restaurant management operations to ensure the establishment runs smoothly. The MGRII ensures the restaurant is clean, well-stocked, adequately staffed, and meets high operational standards throughout business hours. The role involves following prescribed policies and procedures to make informed management decisions, contributing to achieving operational excellence.

The Manager II is responsible for completing opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists according to company protocols. Under the guidance of the General Manager or Assistant General Manager, the MGRII supervises and manages the day-to-day activities of restaurant associates within designated locations or multiple points-of-sale. This role ensures compliance with all company policies, including adult beverage service regulations, and confirms that the staff thoroughly understands and follows these procedures. Participation in the recruitment process, providing input on hiring decisions, recommendations for termination, advancement, and promotions are essential functions of this position.

Scheduling and staffing are also critical duties, with the Manager II assigning work tasks, preparing staff schedules, and guaranteeing shift coverage. The manager actively monitors employees to ensure they adhere to mandated rest breaks and meal periods, supporting labor compliance and employee welfare. Maintaining a clean, visually appealing environment with well-stocked display areas and fully operational equipment falls under the manager's purview. Additionally, the MGRII operates cash registers and voids transactions while strictly adhering to HMSHost's cash handling policies to ensure financial security.

Safety and wellness are paramount; the manager monitors compliance with wellness and safety guidelines, promotes awareness, and promptly addresses safety concerns with higher management. The MGRII is also responsible for placing product orders, receiving goods, processing invoices, and ensuring that up-to-date contact information for all restaurant associates is maintained.

This is a non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act, usually reporting to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Food & Beverage Multi Unit Manager. The role requires working a varied and rotating schedule including opening shifts, peak business hours, and closing shifts to supervise and support restaurant associates effectively.

Candidates for this role should bring a minimum of four years of experience in food and beverage operations, cash handling, and customer service, along with at least two years of supervisory or lead experience in a Casual Dine restaurant or production kitchen. The ability to communicate clearly, comprehend instructions, and engage comfortably with customers is essential. This role is vital to upholding HMSHost's mission to ensure employees and travelers alike have a positive and memorable experience every day.
