Established as part of Avolta, which includes Dufry, Hudson, and other affiliates, HMSHost emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity within its workforce. The company prides itself on maintaining safe, efficient, and enjoyable environments for its associates and customers alike, fostering a culture of growth and professional development as part of its larger global network.
The Manager I (MGRI) position at HMSHost plays a crucial role in assisting branch management with the tactical execution of quick service restaurant (QSR) operations or similar food service establishments. This is an essential leadership role tasked with ensuring that the restaurant unit is clean, staffed, operational, and compliant with all company standards throughout the day. The MGRI is responsible for executing daily opening, operational, and closing procedures while managing a team of associates. This role ensures that each shift is adequately staffed, breaks are observed, and customer service runs smoothly.
An MGRI also oversees equipment upkeep, merchandise presentation, and cash handling procedures, adhering to HMSHost's strict policies to maintain security and operational excellence. This position requires close collaboration with the general manager and other supervisory staff to recommend hiring, advancement, terminations, and scheduling. The role involves monitoring compliance with health and safety standards, including HACCP regulations, to protect both associates and customers.
Reporting to a General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Multi-Unit Manager II, the Manager I position is hourly and non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, requiring flexibility to work varied shifts, including openings, busy periods, and closing times throughout the week. Candidates need a minimum of two years' experience in food and beverage service, cash handling, and customer service, as well as supervisory experience in a restaurant or production kitchen environment. Strong communication skills are essential for effective team leadership and customer interaction.
HMSHost is committed to comprehensive associate benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, holiday pay, meal and transportation benefits, 401(k) retirement plans with company match, company-paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance programs, and opportunities for career growth and development. The company encourages a diverse workplace and provides equal opportunities to all employees regardless of protected characteristics. This position offers a dynamic environment for those seeking to advance their careers in food service management within a respected and supportive company.
