Job Description
HMSHost is a global hospitality company renowned for its commitment to exceptional service and operational excellence within the quick service restaurant (QSR) and hospitality industry. As a well-established brand, HMSHost operates across numerous high-traffic locations, including airports, highways, and travel plazas, providing travelers with memorable dining experiences and convenience services. With a vast network and an emphasis on customer satisfaction, HMSHost offers its associates not only a dynamic work environment but also comprehensive career advancement opportunities. The company supports a culture of engagement, appreciation, caring, and inclusion, which drives its continued growth and success. Employees benefit from competitive wages, robust benefits, and a workplace that values positive energy, teamwork, and a passion for serving others.
The Manager I (MGRI) position at HMSHost is an essential role within the company's restaurant operation framework. This role supports branch management by tactically assisting in the day-to-day management of quick service restaurant (QSR) or similar restaurant operations. As a Manager I, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the restaurant is clean, well-staffed, and operating to high standards at all times. You will be responsible for executing opening, daily, and closing procedures, overseeing associate activities, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, and managing inventory and cash handling processes. The MGRI role demands a hands-on manager who not only adheres to company policies but also promotes a positive and productive work environment.
In this position, you will supervise restaurant associates, participate in the hiring process, provide input on employee status changes like termination or promotion, and help prepare work schedules to ensure consistent coverage during peak and off-peak hours. You will actively engage in maintaining visual appeal and operational readiness of the restaurant, including ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and the restaurant is compliant with applicable health standards such as HACCP. Additionally, you will be responsible for cash register operations while maintaining security protocols and process invoices related to unit orders.
Working as a Manager I at HMSHost offers a variety of shifts, including openings, busy day parts, and closings, requiring flexibility and dedication to monitoring and supporting associates' work. The role also involves a robust focus on wellness and safety compliance, building awareness among associates, and reporting concerns promptly. At HMSHost, managers are viewed as coaches who foster team growth, motivation, and high performance, all while creating a fun, engaging work atmosphere.
This position is classified as a non-exempt role under the Fair Labor Standards Act and reports directly to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Food and Beverage Multi-Unit Manager II. The expected salary ranges from $23.87 to $29.17 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, meal and transportation benefits, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and more. If you have a background in food and beverage, cash handling, and supervisory experience in a restaurant environment, and possess a passion for delivering excellent service in a fast-paced setting, this Manager I role at HMSHost could be your ideal career opportunity.
