Job Description
HMSHost is a global leader in food and beverage services, specializing in providing high-quality dining experiences in travel venues such as airports, highways, and amusement parks. With a strong presence at El Paso Airport, HMSHost offers various quick-service restaurant (QSR) operations that focus on delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring operational efficiency. HMSHost prides itself on fostering a supportive work environment where employees can develop their careers in the hospitality industry. As part of their commitment to excellence, they seek motivated individuals who are passionate about food service and management to join their team.
The Manager I (MGRI) position at HMSHost, based at El Paso Airport, is a vital role that supports branch management in tactically executing restaurant management operations within a quick-service restaurant or similar foodservice environment. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic setting, where attention to detail, leadership, and adherence to operational standards are crucial. The MGRI is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant is clean, fully staffed, and operates in compliance with company policies and procedures. This includes overseeing day-to-day activities, managing staff schedules, and maintaining a safe and welcoming customer environment.
As a Manager I, you will be directly involved in all restaurant operations—from opening and closing duties to managing cash registers and placing orders. You will assist assistant general managers or general managers by supervising associates, participating in the hiring process, recommending promotions or terminations, and fostering a culture of wellness and safety. This is a non-exempt, hourly position with a compensation range of $16.76 to $19.48 per hour.
The role demands a versatile leader who is not only capable of managing staff but also committed to upholding food safety and sanitation standards, including compliance with HACCP guidelines. As part of the leadership team, the Manager I will ensure all equipment is in good working order and that all associates take designated breaks according to company policy. The position requires working varied and rotating shifts, including opening, busy dayparts, and closing, to effectively monitor and guide the restaurant team.
This role is suited for candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service, along with at least six months of supervisory experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting. Effective communication skills are essential as the MGRI needs to converse comfortably with customers, read and understand instructions, and implement company policies accurately.
Joining HMSHost means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workplace that values equal opportunity. The company promotes a drug-free work environment and is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, including minority, female, disabled, and veteran employees. For individuals eager to advance their career in hospitality management within a supportive and fast-paced airport environment, the Manager I position at HMSHost’s El Paso Airport location offers an excellent opportunity to grow and excel.
