Fresh Dining Concepts is a distinguished franchisee operating under ToGo Foods, the franchisor for renowned brands such as Auntie Anne's, Carvel, Cinnabon, and Jamba Juice. Fresh Dining Concepts is currently seeking to expand its amazing team by hiring an enthusiastic and dedicated Shift Manager. This is a critical leadership role within the store environment, responsible for overseeing daily operations during assigned shifts, especially in the absence of the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or Store Manager. The Shift Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that all aspects of store operations run smoothly, from product preparation and presentation to maintaining store cleanliness and equipment. In this role, you will supervise team members, delegate tasks, and uphold the brand's core values to deliver outstanding guest satisfaction consistently.
As a Shift Manager, you will be directly involved in hands-on food preparation, including making specialty products such as pretzels, Cinnabons, and yogurt, and ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. The role requires monitoring ovens and other food preparation equipment, stocking supplies according to inventory guidelines, and ensuring compliance with all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining store funds during your shift, including adherence to cash management policies and completing various reports related to sales and cash handling.
The role demands excellent leadership skills and the ability to maintain composure during high-volume periods or unusual events to keep operations running efficiently. You'll be expected to provide respectful coaching and training to team members and foster a positive work environment. Your responsibilities also include addressing guest needs, resolving complaints, and ensuring an overall positive guest experience. The Shift Manager ensures all opening and closing procedures are meticulously followed and that the store premises meet operational and cleanliness standards.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in retail management or the food service industry and possess strong attention to detail and arithmetic skills. Compliance with health and safety laws is critical, along with the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience with POS systems and modern technology is preferred. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in retail management, food service industry or equivalent retail experience
- Current food handler certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Basic math and reading skills including addition, multiplication and subtraction
- Ability to use and operate a calculator
- Attention to detail
- Ability to coach and lead others respectfully and professionally
- Strong guest focus with positive attitude
- Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Compliance with all health and sanitation laws and regulations
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, walk, squat, bend and perform repetitive hand and arm motions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high stress environment
- Work with agility
- Willingness to work occasional long hours as per state and federal laws
- Meet age requirements for operation of equipment
- Reliable transportation
- Current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Food Handler Permit as required by local laws
- Compliance with local Health Department requirements
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in retail management, food service industry or equivalent retail experience
- Current food handler certification or ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days as required by local law
- Basic math and reading skills including simple addition, multiplication, and subtraction
- Ability to use and operate a calculator accurately
- Attention to detail
- Ability to develop leadership skills including coaching others respectfully and professionally
- Strong guest focus with excellent people skills, positive can-do attitude and teachable spirit
- Availability to work shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Compliance with all health and sanitation laws and regulations
- Experience with computers, smart phones, iPads, retail handhelds and POS systems preferred
- General knowledge of food industry or retail operations preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Perform all the Team Member’s responsibilities such as preparing dough and other products including lemonade, butter, dips, Cinnabons and yogurt
- Roll, twist, dip, shape, bake, and bag pretzels, Cinnabons, and yogurt
- Prepare specialty pretzels or other brand products for Cinnabon and Auntie Anne’s
- Insert, rotate, and remove pretzel or Cinnabon trays
- monitor ovens for correct baking time and product color
- Oversee exceptional customer in-store experience by embodying the brand core values at all times
- Execute and deliver quality store operations including cleaning blenders, small wares, merchandise and store facility, and operating food preparation machinery
- Maintain stocking of all supplies per inventory guidelines
- Adhere to all Jamba food, safety and security guidelines
- Master stations operations of the store
- Provide a healthy consistent product that follows health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Support brand adherence and training of team members
- Dip, drain, and fill pretzels or cinnamon in the warmer or hot plate
- Prepare drinks and bag orders using appropriate health and safety measures
- Direct and coordinate the activities of Team Members including coordinating their meal breaks and complying with state and federal laws
- Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating up to standards and set a positive example
- Contact the Store Manager or Assistant Manager in event of call-offs, no-shows, and recommend solutions to secure replacement for the shift
- Monitor product quality and adherence to proper operating procedures
- Ensure guest service and positive guest experience
- Address, respond to, and resolve guests’ needs, questions, and complaints
- Assure that all opening or closing procedures are performed including daily and periodic maintenance and cleaning
- Manage store funds during assigned shift including access to bottom safe and shift drawers
- Run register reports, complete daily cash reports and hourly reading sheets
- Follow all cash management and cash register policies
- Comply with all Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon and Fresh Dining Concepts policies and relevant federal and state regulations including safety and environmental standards
