The Shift Manager position at Church's Chicken is a vital leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the restaurant during assigned shifts. This part-time, variable-hour, non-exempt role reports directly to the Restaurant General Manager and plays an essential role in maintaining the brand's standards for quality, service, safety, and cleanliness. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in quick service restaurant environment
  • Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
  • Food Handler Certification may be required based on local regulations
  • Ability to stand and walk for 95-100% of the shift
  • Ability to bend, reach, and lift or carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in quick service restaurant environment
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure guest satisfaction and train staff
  • Leadership experience working with management and staff
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with effective follow-through
  • Knowledge of computers, POS systems and various software
  • Basic business math skills and cash handling experience
  • Excellent organizational skills for keeping records and reports

  • Open availability to work any shifts

Job Duties

  • Support Restaurant General Manager in supervising team that delivers effective results in quality, guest service, food cost, labor cost, safety, security, cleanliness and product preparation
  • Run shifts and manage execution of all company policies, procedures, programs and systems
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ethical business practices
  • Create and maintain an Employer of Choice environment
  • Provide leadership, direction, training and development to the restaurant team
  • Supervise and direct the workforce
  • Make staffing decisions including recommending interviews and administering disciplinary actions
  • Exhibit a cheerful and helpful manner
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and explain them accurately
  • Use Point of Sale system to record orders and compute payment
  • Follow proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards
  • Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards
