The Shift Manager role at Fresh Dining Concepts is a pivotal position that ensures smooth store operations during assigned shifts. Acting as the person in charge in the absence of the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or Store Manager, the Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the store while maintaining compliance with the operational standards and policies set forth by Fresh Dining Concepts and its associated brands. This includes supervising team members, executing operational tasks, maintaining product quality, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The role requires a hands-on leader who can multitask effectively, manage staff, resolve customer concerns, and uphold safety and sanitation guidelines.

Shift Managers are tasked with preparing and presenting products such as pretzels, Cinnabon rolls, drinks, and other specialty items in line with the brand's quality standards. They are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the store premises and equipment. This leadership role demands a strong guest focus, excellent people skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate food preparation machinery and point-of-sale systems efficiently. Shift Managers must demonstrate the capacity to stay calm and positive during high-volume periods and help foster a respectful, collaborative work environment.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in retail management, food service industry or equivalent retail experience
  • current food handler certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days
  • basic math and basic reading skills including simple addition, multiplication, and subtraction
  • ability to use and operate a calculator accurately
  • attention to detail
  • availability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • compliance with all health and sanitation laws and regulations
  • ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, highly stressed environment
  • prolonged standing, walking, squatting, bending, and repetitive hand/arm motions
  • reliable transportation
  • ability to operate food preparation machinery per age requirement
  • compliance with all local health department requirements
  • current ServSafe certification or ability to pass within 30 days

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old or older

Job Duties

  • Perform all the team member’s responsibilities such as preparing dough and other products (lemonade, butter, dips, Cinnabons and yogurt)
  • roll, twist, dip, shape, bake, and bag pretzels / Cinnabons / yogurt
  • prepare specialty pretzels or other brand products for Cinnabon and Auntie Anne’s
  • insert, rotate, and remove pretzel/Cinnabon trays
  • monitor ovens for correct baking time and product color
  • oversee exceptional customer in-store experience by embodying brand core values
  • execute and deliver quality store operations including cleaning blenders, small wares, merchandise and store facility
  • operate food preparation machinery per age requirement
  • maintain stocking of all supplies per inventory guidelines
  • adhere to all Jamba food, safety and security guidelines
  • master stations operations of the store
  • provide a healthy consistent product that follows health, safety, and sanitation rules
  • support brand adherence and training of team members
  • dip, drain, and fill pretzels/cinnamon in warmer/hot plate
  • prepare drinks and bag orders using appropriate health and safety measures
  • direct and coordinate the activities of team members including meal and rest breaks
  • maintain calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events
  • coordinate solutions for call-offs and no-shows
  • monitor product quality and adherence to procedures
  • ensure guest service and positive guest experience
  • address, respond to, and resolve guest needs and complaints
  • perform all opening/closing procedures including maintenance and cleaning
  • manage store funds during assigned shifts including safe access and cash drawer replacements
  • run register reports, complete daily cash reports and sales logs
  • follow all cash management and register policies
  • comply with all company and regulatory policies including OSHA, EPA, EEO, ADA
