Job Description

This job opportunity is with a restaurant owned and operated by an independent McDonald's franchisee. This franchisee holds a license to use McDonald’s trademarks, logos, and food products, functioning as a separate company distinct from McDonald’s USA. Employment decisions, including hiring, firing, scheduling, and employee management, are entirely handled by the franchisee. McDonald’s USA does not control these employment aspects and is not involved in the application or interview process. This creates a unique working environment where you benefit from the strong brand recognition and operational systems of McDonald’s with the close-knit, locally focused management of an independent business owner.

The franchised McDonald’s restaurant offers a dynamic workplace that values energy, purpose, and growth. The team culture emphasizes saying yes to opportunity, engaging with passion, and fostering leadership skills. Employees are encouraged to be themselves, grow their skills, pursue education, and work flexible hours. The franchise offers a competitive pay structure, with hiring bonuses, flexible scheduling, and importantly, college tuition assistance programs. This makes it ideal for individuals looking to build a meaningful career in a fast-paced environment while balancing personal development and education.

The role available is that of a Shift Manager, a critical leadership position within the restaurant’s daily operations. Shift Managers are responsible for leading teams during their shifts to ensure high standards of quality, service and cleanliness. They manage customer experiences by maintaining food safety, internal communication, inventory, daily maintenance, and safety protocols. They oversee scheduling, training, and performance to meet both team and corporate goals. The position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage shifting priorities, and a desire to contribute positively to team dynamics. Previous leadership experience in restaurants, retail, or hospitality is preferred, though enthusiasm and passion for the work environment are equally valued.

This job offers more than just a paycheck; it offers professional development and advancement with valuable job training, college tuition support via Archways to Opportunity, and healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Eligible workers receive paid vacation, disability and life insurance options, and can participate in employee resource programs, reinforcing the employer’s commitment to employee wellbeing and growth. To qualify, candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a flexible schedule compatible with the fast-paced demands of McDonald’s. The role cultivates future leaders by fostering positive team environments, providing coaching and opportunities to advance within the franchise network.
