Job Description

This job opportunity is with an independently owned and operated McDonald’s restaurant franchisee, separate from McDonald’s USA. This franchisee holds the license to use McDonald’s logos, branding, and food products, operating the establishment with all the familiar quality and standards customers expect while maintaining its own management and employment operations. As this franchise is a distinct entity, all employment decisions including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling are handled independently by the franchisee without any involvement from McDonald’s USA. This separation ensures a unique working environment where franchisee employees have the opportunity to thrive under locally driven leadership focused on quality and customer satisfaction.

This particular role is a Shift Manager position, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.50 to $22.50. The position is pivotal in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant by leading shifts, managing crew members, and ensuring exceptional service standards. The Shift Manager plays a central role in fostering a positive work atmosphere, providing coaching and direction to the team, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. This position appeals to driven individuals seeking a dynamic work environment with opportunities to grow their careers while enjoying flexible schedules and benefits tailored to their needs.

A Shift Manager’s duties are comprehensive and include overseeing food safety, facilitating internal communication among crew members and management, managing inventory, ensuring daily maintenance and cleanliness, scheduling work shifts, and training new employees. Shift Managers also hold responsibility for safety and security within the restaurant and work closely with their peers to prepare the next shift manager to continue the operational success of the establishment. This role requires a blend of leadership, organizational skills, and customer service excellence, making it ideal for those who thrive in fast-paced retail or hospitality environments.

The company promotes an inclusive team culture where employees are encouraged to bring energy, purpose, and a positive attitude to their work. Shift Managers have the opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills, gain extensive job training, and pursue educational advancement through programs such as Archways to Opportunity. From earning a high school diploma to college tuition assistance and English as a Second Language classes, McDonald’s provides support to help employees reach their full potential.

In addition to competitive pay, the Shift Manager role comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including paid vacation, sick pay in line with New York City regulations, and medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. Employees are also eligible for short- and long-term disability, life and accident insurance, and service awards recognizing their commitment and achievements. The company encourages individuals passionate about fast-service hospitality and customer satisfaction to apply and grow within this supportive and goal-oriented environment.
