Job Description
McDonald's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its consistent quality, quick service, and iconic menu offerings. As one of the largest and most prominent brands in the foodservice industry, McDonald's provides opportunities for career growth in a dynamic and engaging work environment. The company is committed to cultivating a culture where employees can thrive by offering competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and strong pathways for advancement. Working at McDonald's means becoming part of a diverse team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences while maintaining high standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and safety.
This particular opportunity is for a Shift Manager role at a McDonald's restaurant operated by an independent franchisee. This position is ideal for those who are eager to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced setting and want to play an active role in managing daily restaurant operations. The Shift Manager leads shifts weekly, ensuring that customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service during their visits. The role carries a starting salary ranging from $15 to $17 per hour and includes valuable benefits such as paid vacations starting with 10 days of paid time off after six months, opportunities for ongoing development and advancement, educational support through the Archways to Opportunity program which includes high school diploma attainment, college tuition assistance, and English as a Second Language classes. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage with the company paying 50% of the premiums, as well as options for short- and long-term disability, life, and accident insurance.
As a Shift Manager, you are responsible for numerous critical tasks including planning and monitoring shifts, overseeing the performance and safety of the team, managing inventory, and supporting profitability goals. You will provide leadership and coaching to crew members and other managers in order to achieve high standards in food safety, internal communication, quality food production, cleanliness, customer service, and scheduling. The role also involves hands-on participation in daily maintenance and fostering a positive team environment where every member is motivated to contribute to the restaurant's success.
This position requires previous leadership experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting. The ideal candidate is a positive team player with a flexible schedule who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to qualify for the shift manager role. Since the restaurant is independently owned and operated, employment decisions are handled by the franchisee, who manages hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, scheduling, and supervision. McDonalds USA does not participate in employment decisions or application processing for this position. This unique structure provides prospective employees with the opportunity to join a locally managed team that benefits from the global brand standards and support of McDonald’s.
Joining McDonald's as a Shift Manager means stepping into a role that not only challenges you to lead but also supports your career growth through structured development programs and competitive compensation. If you are ready to work with energy and purpose in a rewarding environment and advance your career in the restaurant industry, this role offers a solid foundation for your professional journey.
