The role of Shift Manager at Pizza Ranch is essential to the smooth running of the restaurant’s daily operations. As a Shift Manager, you will serve as a positive and motivating leader who encourages teamwork and excellence during each shift. You will be trained extensively in both front-of-house and back-of-house processes, ensuring you become an expert in operational procedures that uphold the brand’s high standards. Your leadership will be critical in training new team members and supporting ongoing staff development.
A key responsibility of the Shift Manager is to maintain high-quality food and service standards, including overseeing buffet maintenance and food presentation to ensure freshness and cleanliness. You will lead by example, providing legendary guest service yourself while inspiring your team to do the same, all contributing to a memorable guest experience. Additionally, you will assist with inventory management, utilizing tools like Dough Pull Sheets and Prep Planners, as well as maintain checklists to ensure consistent quality control during all shifts.
Your leadership efforts will also extend to operational efficiency, supporting management in reducing waste, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability. The role demands someone who is organized, communicative, and highly capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Being on your feet for extended periods, maintaining mobility, and possessing exceptional people skills are essential to succeeding in this position.

These can vary across different franchise locations. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $15 - $19 per hour at the Pizza Ranch location in Tea, South Dakota.

- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced setting

- Ability to be mobile and/or on your feet for extended periods of time during the entire shift
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and guest service skills
- Strong people skills
- Completed the Certified Trainer program on Pizza Ranch University

Job Duties
- Assist in the training of new team members as well as the continuous training of existing staff
- Assist with answering questions about standards and operations from team members
- Assist to ensure high-quality food standards are met
- Assist to ensure full, fresh, and clean buffets are maintained
- Provide legendary guest service and lead staff to do the same
- Assist in maintaining inventory of all needed supplies (Dough Pull Sheet, Prep Planner, and Salad Bar Stock)
- Follow and verify that checklists are utilized for each shift
- Assist the management team to cut waste, decrease costs and improve profits
