The role of a Shift Manager at Five Guys is pivotal to the smooth operation of each restaurant location. Shift Managers are trained to perform all duties performed by Crew Members and Shift Leaders, but with added responsibilities that include overseeing daily restaurant operations in the absence of the General Manager. This requires ensuring compliance with company standards in all operational facets such as product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance, team management, and inventory control. The Shift Manager is also responsible for motivating the team, maintaining high standards, and helping create an enjoyable environment for both staff and customers. Compensation for this role is competitive, with a base pay of $18.50 per hour plus tips and bonuses, including a Secret Shopper bonus plan. All team members working during Secret Shopper visits are eligible for bonuses based on the results, further incentivizing excellent performance. The position offers real and consistent work hours, generally from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, with no drive-thru service, which supports a balanced work-life schedule for employees.
