Job Description

This job opportunity is with a restaurant operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use the McDonald’s brand, including its logos and food products. Unlike corporate-owned McDonald’s locations, this franchisee operates as a separate business entity with its own management and employment policies. This means that if you are hired for this position, you will be employed by the franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. All matters including hiring, firing, staffing, supervision, scheduling, and discipline are the sole responsibility of the franchisee. McDonald’s USA is not involved in employment decisions and will not have access to your employment application or be part of the hiring process.

This role offers a unique chance to join a thriving fast food restaurant that values leadership, teamwork, and personal development. The position is designed for individuals who seek a satisfying career with the flexibility to choose hours that fit their lifestyle while enjoying opportunities for advancement and growth. The franchisee ensures a productive workplace that supports skill building and encourages employees to be their authentic selves.

The role of Shift Manager is critical in maintaining the high standards expected by McDonald’s customers. As a Shift Manager, you will lead crew members and other managers during your shifts, ensuring that every customer receives fast, accurate, and friendly service while upholding top-quality food production and restaurant cleanliness. You will play a vital role in planning shift activities, monitoring team performance, and taking corrective actions as needed to meet or exceed operational goals.

Your leadership and decision-making will impact the restaurant’s safety, security, and profitability. Effective communication between shifts is essential so that each manager can build on the success of the last, fostering a seamless experience for both employees and customers. You’ll also be entrusted with helping your assigned departments reach their targets and encouraging continuous improvement across the board.

Working as a Shift Manager here means embracing responsibility for various operational facets including food safety, inventory management, scheduling, training, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The franchisee supports your growth with opportunities such as college tuition assistance, valuable job training, and retirement benefits, providing a comprehensive career pathway.

Shift Managers should bring a passion for the fast-paced, energetic environment that defines McDonald’s. Previous leadership experience, preferably in restaurant, retail, or hospitality, is desirable, along with a positive attitude and a flexible schedule. The minimum age requirement to manage a shift in corporate-owned locations is 18 years or older, ensuring maturity and accountability in leadership roles.

If you want a career that drives you forward, offers meaningful growth opportunities, and lets you be part of a motivated team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences, this Shift Manager position could be the ideal fit. Join a company where your contributions matter, and your leadership shapes the daily success of the restaurant and team members alike.
