The role of Person in Charge is a key leadership position within our store operations, tasked with overseeing shift activities and ensuring smooth restaurant performance during times when management is not present. This position requires a versatile leader who can effectively supervise a team of 3 to 15 employees, manage inventory and supply responsibilities, and maintain the cleanliness and operational standards that define the Jimmy John's brand. As Person in Charge, you will be responsible for delegating tasks such as ordering, receiving, and storage of food, labor, and supplies to minimize loss from waste or theft. You will also assist in supervising food preparation, sales, and service to ensure peak efficiency during busy periods. This role calls for hands-on involvement, including completing daily food prep tasks like slicing and portioning ingredients, as well as performing administrative duties to support store operations. Additionally, you will play an active role in the upkeep and maintenance of store equipment and supplies, contributing to a safe and functional work environment.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as business dictates
- Physical stamina to work 40-50 hours per week
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, listen
- Ability to see close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to handle moderate noise levels in work environment
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a leadership role within food service preferred
- Strong understanding of food preparation and safety standards
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and understanding fractions
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Good communication and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Supervise a staff of approximately 3 to 15 employees
- Delegate responsibilities for ordering, receiving, storage, and issuing of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies to ensure minimum loss from waste and theft
- Assist in supervision of preparation, sales, and service of food
- Supervise food preparation and service operations while on duty
- Assist team members during rush periods to ensure restaurant efficiency
- Complete daily food preparation including meat and vegetable slicing, portioning, and rotating products
- Assist in daily and weekly paperwork
- Assist in preventive maintenance and upkeep of store equipment and supplies
- Perform other related duties as required
