The Person in Charge role at Jimmy John's is a key leadership position responsible for managing restaurant operations during assigned shifts when management is not present. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
  • Physical stamina to work 40-50 hours per week
  • Ability to perform essential job functions involving standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and other physical activities
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and fraction comprehension
  • Ability to use hands, talk, listen, and have good vision including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must comply with all company food safety and operational standards

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to use basic math, addition, subtraction, and understand basic fractions
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in food service or restaurant operations preferred
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical tasks required on the job

Job Duties

  • Supervise a staff of approximately 3 to 15 employees
  • Delegate responsibilities for ordering, receiving, storage, and issuing of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies
  • Assist in the supervision of preparation, sales, and service of food
  • Supervise food preparation and service operations while on duty
  • Assist team members during rush periods to ensure restaurant efficiency
  • Complete daily food preparation including meat and vegetable slicing, portioning, and rotating products
  • Assist in daily and weekly paperwork
  • Assist in preventive maintenance and upkeep on store equipment and supplies
  • Perform other related duties as required
