The company fosters a positive work environment rooted in respect, inclusivity, and equal opportunity, providing comprehensive training and development programs such as ABC University, which offers specialized education in wine, spirits, beer, and cigars. This company culture supports career growth and personal achievement, making ABC a preferred employer in the retail sector of alcohol and beverage sales.
The Shift Leader Trainee position at ABC is a dynamic, fast-paced role designed to groom leadership potential within the company. Trainees are hired with the expectation of progressing into the role of Shift Leader typically within approximately 90 days. During this period, Shift Leader Trainees are expected to increase store sales through exceptional guest service and effective team collaboration. This role requires an individual who can take on the responsibilities of Manager on Duty in training, including opening and closing the store, managing store operations alongside Store Managers, and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness across the retail environment. The trainee will also learn to efficiently operate Point-of-Sale terminals, handle transactions accurately, and support inventory management through merchandising and stocking activities.
In addition to operational tasks, Shift Leader Trainees will play a critical role in coaching and directing sales associates to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service and strict adherence to company policies and procedures. The position provides invaluable leadership experience, enabling the trainee to develop skills in problem-solving, team management, and effective communication. The role also requires flexibility, as trainees must be able to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of the business. The company offers a competitive benefits package that includes paid vacation and PTO, tuition reimbursement, excellent health insurance plans for individuals and families, dental and vision coverage, company-matched 401k programs, employee discounts, and more.
