The position of Shift Leader at United Dairy Farmers is an integral role responsible for maintaining smooth store operations during assigned shifts. As a Shift Leader, individuals are expected to exemplify the core values embodied in the Hi Five Guest Experience—Invited, Welcomed, Well-Served, Respected, and Fulfilled—ensuring that every guest receives outstanding service. This role is a full-time position, typically involving 37 to 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts. The pay range for this role is between $13.50 and $15.25 per hour, reflecting the responsibility and dedication expected.

Shift Leaders act as the point of contact in the absence of the Store Manager and are responsible for supervising other associates, maintaining safety and efficiency, and upholding company policies. These leaders must be capable of conducting all sales transactions legally, including the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, in compliance with state laws. The role demands strong communication skills and a deep sense of integrity, as the Shift Leader is expected to operate honestly and ethically while adhering strictly to all laws, regulations, and company requirements.

Beyond leadership and customer service, this role involves hands-on responsibilities such as preparing popular DipSide items like shakes, malts, ice cream, yogurt, and sundaes, efficiently managing point of sale and gas console operations, stocking merchandise, and ensuring that store environments are clean, safe, and well-organized. Shift Leaders also play a critical role in loss prevention by maintaining vigilance to prevent shoplifting and gas drive-offs, managing cash levels properly, and adhering to Tobacco/Alcohol and Robbery/Violence Deterrence programs.

Accurate reporting and documentation, including the completion of time records and customer feedback, are essential components of the role to guarantee smooth store management and customer satisfaction metrics. Shift Leaders must also be physically capable of performing store operations tasks that involve stocking, cleaning, and equipment maintenance, often under various environmental conditions.
