Job Description
United Dairy Farmers (UDF) is a well-established convenience store and dairy company known for its high-quality products and exceptional customer service. Founded over 80 years ago, UDF has grown from a local dairy farm to a reputable chain of convenience stores that offer fresh dairy products, snacks, beverages, and household essentials. The company prides itself on providing an exceptional customer experience, emphasizing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for every guest who walks through its doors. UDF operates in several locations and has earned a loyal customer base due to its commitment to quality, community involvement, and consistent service excellence. The company is dedicated to upholding high standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism across all its stores.
The role of Shift Leader at United Dairy Farmers is integral to maintaining the company’s brand promise of delivering outstanding service and ensuring operational excellence. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team during your assigned shift, which could be the first, second, or third shift, working full time with hours ranging between 37 to 40 per week. The position offers a competitive pay range of $13.50 to $15.25 per hour, reflecting UDF’s commitment to fair compensation for its valued employees.
In this leadership role, your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional guest service by adhering to the company’s signature Hi Five Guest Experience, which includes Inviting, Welcoming, Well-Serving, Respecting, and Fulfilling each guest’s needs. As a Shift Leader, you act as the face of leadership on your shift, taking charge in the absence of higher-level managers and ensuring that all associates perform their duties according to company policies and standards. You are accountable for the safe, efficient, and ethical operation of the store during your shift, which involves following legal regulations for sales transactions, including those related to alcohol and tobacco products.
This position requires strong leadership skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment. The Shift Leader ensures the store is well-stocked, clean, and safe for both guests and employees. You will oversee cash handling processes, monitor compliance with company security measures, and assist with the preparation of DipSide items such as shakes, malts, and sundaes. Alongside customer service, operational duties also include managing sales transactions accurately, performing maintenance tasks, and completing detailed reports such as time records and customer feedback documentation.
Working as a Shift Leader at UDF means playing a crucial role in supporting your team, maintaining high standards, and contributing to the company’s overall success. It is an opportunity to grow within a company that values integrity, customer satisfaction, and community connection while gaining valuable management experience in retail. Whether you are looking to start a career in retail management or build on your existing skills, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
