Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. is a well-established and respected leader in the American Chinese restaurant industry. Founded in Glendale, California, since 1983, Panda has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States. With nearly 2,800 locations around the globe, Panda Restaurant Group prides itself on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while fostering a company culture grounded in family values and a strong commitment to community impact. This dynamic and fast-growing company continues to inspire its team members to better their lives through meaningful work and opportunities for growth.

Joining Panda as a Shift Leader means stepping into a pivotal role within a vibrant and busy restaurant environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge management and front-line associates by leading team members during shifts and ensuring the delivery of excellent food, service, and ambiance. As a Shift Leader, you will be instrumental in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, actively participating in daily restaurant operations, and supporting the team by leading by example. You will gain valuable management skills such as supervising store operations, coaching team members, and handling customer interactions effectively.

This role emphasizes hands-on experience, including actively preparing Panda’s delicious menu items and ensuring food safety standards are met. You will develop leadership abilities by managing diverse tasks within a fast-paced setting, from maintaining cleanliness and operational standards to coaching and motivating your team. Working at Panda allows you to cultivate a broad skill set, including customer service excellence, team leadership, operational oversight, and culinary basics. This role is perfect for candidates looking to grow their career in the restaurant industry, offering opportunities to develop themselves and mentor others as they become integral players in delivering memorable dining experiences.

The Shift Leader position is not only about managing tasks but also about embodying Panda’s mission and values. You will contribute to building an environment where both employees and guests feel valued and engaged. Panda Restaurant Group places strong emphasis on equal opportunity employment, encouraging diversity and inclusion across all areas of the business. The company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process to ensure all qualified individuals can participate fully.

In this position, you will be expected to work in a fast-moving kitchen environment characterized by hot temperatures, limited space, and high noise levels. Physical stamina and the ability to safely handle kitchen tools and heavy lifting are essential. Effective communication skills and adaptability are crucial to managing shifting priorities and resolving conflicts in a professional manner. Overall, becoming a Shift Leader at Panda offers a rewarding blend of leadership development, hands-on culinary experience, and the chance to be part of a nationally recognized and family-oriented restaurant group dedicated to operational excellence and community connection.
