Job Description

The role of Shift Leader at Margaritas is a vital leadership position within the restaurant’s management team. This position offers an hourly wage of $20 to $25 and is designed for individuals passionate about the food service industry and eager to take on supervisory responsibilities in a dynamic environment. The Shift Leader will play a key role in ensuring that the restaurant runs smoothly during each shift, focusing on guest satisfaction, employee development, and operational efficiency. This position requires a hands-on leader who can actively engage with customers, support team members, and uphold Margaritas’ high standards across various operational areas.

In this role, the Shift Leader is expected to master all station positions, serving also as a trainer to new employees to ensure they meet the restaurant’s service and quality standards. The leader must possess a well-rounded knowledge of restaurant operations including employee retention, sanitation, food quality, guest services, and managing the financial aspects such as profits and losses. A crucial part of the job is to follow and enforce all standard procedures and recipes for line cooking, prep work, bar service, and overall guest service to guarantee the consistency and quality that Margaritas promises.

Operationally, the Shift Leader controls cash flow in adherence to Margaritas’ established cash handling policies, further ensuring the financial integrity of each shift. Daily responsibilities include completing logs to verify compliance with cleaning, sanitation, food rotation, waste management, and service quality requirements. The leader must be flexible and willing to fill in any role as needed to maintain seamless guest service and efficient restaurant operations.

The physical demands of this position require the Shift Leader to be on their feet 100 percent of the time during shifts, be prepared to work in varying environmental conditions including heat and cold, and be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Equally important is the ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, empowering team members and contributing to a culture where employees feel valued and guests receive outstanding service.

Job Requirements
