Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • able to stand and walk for 8-9 hours or as needed
  • able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment
  • willingness to work flexible hours
  • ability to follow health and safety standards
  • prior supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to manage potential allergens in food preparation
  • effective communication skills
  • able to handle physical demands of the kitchen including knife skills as a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment preferred
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • experience with managing allergens including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • friendly and customer service oriented
  • problem-solving skills
  • ability to manage team members during shifts
  • knowledge of cash handling procedures
  • food safety certification required or willingness to obtain
  • ability to maintain composure in higher noise environments
  • effective team leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Lead team members on shifts including efficient assignment of tasks while providing feedback
  • ensure all security procedures are followed
  • ensure back-of-the-house procedural standards are met
  • count drawers and follow proper daily cash handling procedures
  • prepare quality finished products efficiently including sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, and ice cream
  • comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety
  • restock food line, chips and cooler
  • clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils
  • take out trash
  • operate cash register handling, balancing and following all cash handling procedures
  • effectively handle customer complaints and issues
  • complete other duties as assigned
  • complete and pass Food Safety Certification course as required
