The Shift Leader / On Duty Manager (ODM) role at Tiff's Treats offers a unique leadership opportunity where individuals step in to manage store operations when salaried managers are absent. This position is part-time and hourly, with flexible and varied scheduling that includes day, night, and weekend shifts typically between 7 AM and 11 PM. Earning $18 per hour for ODM shifts, employees help lead the team, oversee daily activities, and ensure that every customer enjoys a seamless and delightful experience.

As an ODM, you will take charge of managing daily operations including product preparation, sales, inventory, and excellent customer service. Leadership responsibilities extend to training and evaluating a team of 3 to 6 employees during your shifts, guiding them to maintain productivity and a positive work environment. You will also execute essential opening and closing procedures, complete inventory and paperwork, and optimize delivery routes to enhance operational efficiency. This role demands a positive, can-do attitude, providing team motivation and leading by example in all areas.

When not functioning as the ODM, team members work as either Kitchen Team Members or Delivery Drivers. Kitchen Team Members earn $15 per hour and are tasked with baking and preparing treats following company recipes and food safety standards. They also ensure accurate packaging of orders and maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Delivery Drivers earn $10 per hour plus delivery fees and 100% customer tips, responsible for timely, safe deliveries while delivering excellent customer service. Drivers must have a clean driving record and valid license, with access to a personal vehicle for delivery when company vehicles are unavailable. Safety and responsibility in driving are paramount.

Job Requirements

  • Flexible and versatile, willing to work both delivery driver and kitchen shifts
  • Available for peak business days including Bosses' Day, Admin Pro Day, and Valentine’s Day
  • Current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Proof of current auto insurance with driver listed as authorized
  • Access to a personal vehicle for deliveries when company vehicles are in use
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely and follow all traffic laws
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and grasp up to 50 lbs
  • Constant standing and/or walking with limited breaks in various weather conditions
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach items up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Capable of repetitive wrist/arm/hand motions
  • Ability to take visual and audible cues and follow instructions in a noisy environment
  • Ability to clearly hear and speak over the telephone
  • Ability to perform computer work in a stationary position for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of leadership and/or management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Proof of auto insurance with authorization to drive
  • Ability to work as a Kitchen Team Member and Delivery Driver as needed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively and safely

Job Duties

  • Serve as the manager on duty in the absence of salaried managers, leading the team and ensuring smooth store operations
  • Oversee, train, and evaluate 3-6 employees per shift, fostering a productive and positive work environment
  • Manage daily operations including product preparation, sales, inventory, and service to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Execute opening and closing procedures and complete daily paperwork and inventory checks
  • Optimize delivery efficiency by routing orders to maximize speed and delivery business
  • Maintain a positive, can-do attitude, leading by example in every role
  • Assist with front-of-house tasks including greeting customers, taking orders, handling transactions, and ensuring order accuracy
  • Support performance management including coaching team members and providing feedback or corrective actions as needed
  • Bake and prepare warm treats following recipes and quality standards
  • Accurately package orders for delivery or pickup
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
  • Deliver treats efficiently using company or personal vehicle
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery
  • Assist with various in-store duties including order packaging and cleaning
