Job Description
Chi'Lantro is a renowned Korean BBQ-inspired fast casual dining brand that originated in Austin, Texas. Since its establishment in 2010 by founder Jae Kim, Chi'Lantro has grown from a humble food truck venture into a thriving restaurant chain with locations in Austin, Houston, and San Marcos. Known worldwide for its signature dish "The Original Kimchi Fries," the company has built a passionate following through its commitment to delivering high-quality food combined with exceptional Southern hospitality. Chi'Lantro's brand personality is deeply rooted in authenticity, resilience, thankfulness, and dedication, values that guide the company's team culture and customer service philosophy. As seen on ABC's Shark Tank, Chi'Lantro embraces innovation and growth while maintaining a personal touch that makes guests feel welcome and valued.
The Crew Lead role at Chi'Lantro plays a critical part in ensuring a memorable dining experience for every guest. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about Korean BBQ-inspired dishes and eager to uphold the food safety and cleanliness standards that the brand prides itself on. Taking on this leadership position means acting as a positive role model for the team, inspiring colleagues through clear communication, dedication, and a commitment to the company's values. The Crew Lead will manage day-to-day operations, assist with training new staff, oversee opening and closing procedures, and maintain quality control for food and guest interaction. This role is integral to supporting the General Manager and stepping up as acting manager in their absence.
With a guaranteed hourly wage of $16, Chi'Lantro offers both part-time and full-time positions featuring a flexible schedule, appealing to a wide range of candidates including those seeking growth opportunities within a fast-expanding company. Benefits such as health insurance eligibility, ongoing leadership development, and a comprehensive 10-day new hire training program ensure that Crew Leads are set up for success from day one. Additionally, employees enjoy perks like free Chi'Lantro shift meals and the chance to be part of a vibrant culture built on positive communication, accountability, and community spirit.
This role requires high energy, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to multitask effectively in a bustling restaurant environment. Given the physical nature of the job, candidates should be comfortable with lifting up to 50 pounds and preparing ingredients using kitchen tools. Food safety knowledge, particularly understanding FIFO (First In, First Out), is helpful though training is provided for those eager to learn. Effective communication skills and proficiency in the primary language(s) used at the work location are essential to coordinate kitchen and front-of-house operations smoothly.
Joining the Chi'Lantro team means becoming part of a growing family that values each team member and strives to create lasting relationships with its customers. If you are passionate about food, leadership, and delivering an outstanding guest experience, this is an inspiring opportunity to grow your career in the food service industry while making a tangible impact in a community-focused environment. Come vibe with Chi'Lantro on their journey to build a world-leading Korean BBQ brand!
