Sweetgreen is a prominent national restaurant brand established in 2007, dedicated to building healthier communities by connecting people to real, wholesome food. Known for reimagining fast food as fresh, flavorful, and ethically sourced, Sweetgreen emphasizes strong relationships with farmers and communities to deliver quality food experiences. The company fosters an inclusive and diverse environment, offering equal opportunities regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or any other status protected by law. Sweetgreen also participates in the federal E-Verify program to ensure employment eligibility and is committed to providing accommodations as required by law. Their mission extends beyond food to nurturing a community where food, people, and purpose come together. This commitment translates into a vibrant workplace culture that values growth, leadership, and wellness. The restaurant brand is continuously expanding, offering career development and leadership pathways for motivated individuals passionate about hospitality and operational excellence.
As a Shift Leader at Sweetgreen, you play a crucial role in leading teams and supporting daily restaurant operations with a hospitality-first mindset. The role demands confidence, energy, and accountability as you guide team members towards success while delivering exceptional guest experiences. Shift Leaders ensure smooth service by managing pace, priorities, and execution across the restaurant floor. This hands-on leadership involves stepping into various stations when needed, modeling strong performance and teamwork in real time. Coaching team members to improve service quality, food standards, and operational protocols, Shift Leaders also uphold crucial standards of food safety, accuracy, cleanliness, and organization throughout each shift.
Communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, especially during high-volume moments that demand staying calm under pressure. Sweetgreen not only offers this role as a vital leadership position but also provides a clear growth path for Shift Leaders to advance to General Manager within two years. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with prior leadership or supervisory experience in restaurants, retail, or hospitality who are passionate about building a positive team culture, motivated to grow into management roles, and pride themselves on accountability and dependability. The role requires working at least 30 hours per week, being 18 years or older, and authorization to work in the United States.
Sweetgreen champions workplace well-being with competitive wages, tips where applicable, and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision options available to both part-time and full-time employees depending on eligibility. Additional perks include paid vacation, wellness time, parental leave, a free meal every shift, a 401(k) plan, and access to a unique Team Member Merch Shop. Sweetgreen’s Shift Leader position offers not only an opportunity to impact healthier food choices within communities but also to build a fulfilling career in a forward-thinking restaurant environment that values personal and professional growth.
