The Shift Leader role at Thorntons LLC is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy leading by example. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining overall safety, performing all Guest Service Representative duties during your shift, and managing shift reconciliation and inventory control procedures. This leadership position requires careful oversight of vendor check-in processes, adherence to food safety and preparation standards, and ensuring store cleanliness and organization. More than just a supervisory role, the Shift Leader is expected to foster a culture of respect and teamwork, providing coaching and celebrating team achievements to motivate and inspire fellow team members.

The role demands versatility, requiring the ability to work across various shifts, including first, second, and third shifts, and hands-on involvement in training new team members. You will act as the key leader on duty whenever the store or general manager is absent, making critical operational decisions, assigning tasks, and ensuring all store protocols, including meal and rest break compliance, are strictly followed. A shift leader is also charged with employing suggestive selling techniques and promoting the Refreshing Rewards loyalty program to enhance guest experience and boost sales.

This position offers an opportunity to earn additional compensation during times when you are responsible for store leadership in the absence of management. Practical knowledge of food safety certifications is preferred, along with the physical ability to handle varied tasks like climbing ladders, cleaning, stocking, and lifting. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • availability to work multiple shifts including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
  • ability to climb ladders and perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting up to 55 lbs, and cleaning
  • knowledge of food safety and handling
  • ability to adhere to cash handling policies
  • compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • willingness to embrace new company initiatives and technology
