The Shift Leader position is a vital role within the restaurant teams, responsible for helping to deliver exceptional service and delicious food in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role involves rotating through different positions within the restaurant, showcasing versatility and hands-on leadership by working alongside team members across various roles. As a frontline leader, the Shift Leader supervises full and partial shifts, including opening and closing the restaurant. They are instrumental in managing inventory levels, ensuring all food quality and sanitation standards are strictly followed, and maintaining a positive dining atmosphere for guests.

The Shift Leader also is a coach and mentor, leading by example to uphold company standards and improve operational execution. They are accountable for meeting scheduled labor metrics while monitoring sales and operational efficiency throughout shifts. Additionally, the role involves managing daily sanitation and cleaning procedures with integrity, adhering to food safety protocols such as temperature monitoring, and contributing to a safe work environment. The Shift Leader plays a key role in handling guest concerns promptly and professionally, always escalating issues appropriately to the General Manager. Communication with management about all critical business aspects and staffing concerns is another important responsibility, supporting smooth operations and a cohesive team environment.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours consecutively

Job Duties

  • Leading, monitoring, coaching and training team members to ensure operational execution
  • Adheres to scheduled and projected labor metrics while monitoring sales throughout the shift
  • Ensures all assigned cleaning duties and tasks are completed thoroughly and with integrity
  • Proficient in all restaurant positions and work hands-on with team members in each of these areas
  • Works as part of a team to provide an exceptional Guest experience to our patrons
  • Ensure Guest satisfaction by following the Six Service Standards and PLUS 1 as needed
  • Performs opening and closing managerial duties including readiness checklists and cash handling duties
  • Handles Guest issues or conflicts and reports them to the General Manager immediately
  • Places, checks in, and stores food and orders
  • Completes daily temperature line checks to ensure food safety practices are adhered to
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and fun work environment
  • Communicate effectively to the management team regarding essential information impacting the business
  • Report any team member issues or concerns to the General Manager
