The role of Shift Leader at Snappy Salads is a full-time, regular, non-exempt position within the Operations department. This leadership position plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth functioning of the restaurant during shifts when the General Manager and Assistant General Manager are not present. The Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing the restaurant operations while fostering a collaborative and motivating team environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, upbeat atmosphere and is passionate about hospitality and guest experiences. As a Shift Leader, you will lead by example, ensuring adherence to operational policies, safety standards, and high-quality food preparation and service. You will actively engage with team members, providing ongoing training and support, while driving performance and maintaining the vibrant culture that makes Snappy Salads unique.

In this role, the Shift Leader will greet guests warmly, oversee food preparation, ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant, manage cash handling and safety protocols, and resolve guest concerns with professionalism. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to lift 10 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time on scheduled shifts
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Must be team oriented and adaptable
  • Must have excellent guest service skills
  • Must be willing to follow safety and operational procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred
  • Strong guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic food preparation skills

Job Duties

  • Effectively lead the restaurant while the General Manager and Assistant General Manager is not present
  • Responsible for monitoring the training and development of existing and new team members while on shift, to include the Snappy Salads operational policies and procedures, cash handling and safety/security procedures to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift
  • Lead each shift by delegating duties and assigned tasks and follow up with team members
  • Greet guests to make them feel comfortable and welcome
  • Assist in preparation food items including prepping menu items using equipment like knifes, juicer, grill, oven, food processor and blenders
  • Check food quality and food temperatures throughout the day to ensure that food is fresh and safe to serve
  • Follow sanitation and safety procedures including knife handling and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant and ensures proper opening and closing procedures are being followed in the entire restaurant including dining room, restrooms, kitchen and prep areas
  • Ensures that team members take guests’ orders and handle accurate cash and credit transactions
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the brand and menu items
  • Effectively handle guest concerns and complaints and escalate them to the appropriate person in Management
  • Direct the team to prepare the restaurant for each shift
  • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture of Snappy Salads
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Contributes to a positive team environment
