Job Description
McDonald's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its quick service and iconic menu items like the Big Mac and fries. This position is with a local McDonald's franchisee-owned restaurant, which operates independently from McDonald's USA. The franchisee owns a license to use McDonald's branding and products, but manages their own employment and operational practices. This setup allows the franchise to operate with a unique culture and focus on community and employee satisfaction.
The role offered is for a Department Manager, a key leadership position within the restaurant. This role comes with a competitive pay range of $22.00 to $23.50 per hour, and offers flexible scheduling that can accommodate full-time or part-time preferences, including breakfast, lunch, evenings, late nights, and weekends. The franchise emphasizes a positive work environment where employees feel valued and have pathways for growth and advancement. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, tuition reimbursement, employee discounts, a 401(k) retirement plan, and participation in a bonus program.
As a Department Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. Your responsibilities will include leading key internal functions such as employee training, food safety protocols, and inventory management. You will be expected to delegate tasks effectively, monitor results, and work closely with the General Manager to meet restaurant performance and quality standards. This includes overseeing kitchen operations to ensure food quality, safety, cost management, and implementation of new menu items. You will also manage staffing — hiring, training, and scheduling — to achieve sales and profitability goals while guaranteeing a memorable guest experience by maintaining high levels of service.
Teamwork is a critical component of success in this position. You will collaborate with the restaurant team to ensure safe and efficient operations while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. The role requires a commitment to excellence and safety in the workplace, strong customer service orientation, proactive communication skills, and the ability to make effective decisions within a fast-paced environment.
This position is open to candidates aged 18 and older. The franchise values diversity and fosters an environment free of discrimination and harassment, offering reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the hiring process and employment. This is an opportunity to grow your career within a well-established brand while enjoying the benefits of flexible scheduling and a supportive work culture tailored to your needs and lifestyle.
