The position available is for a Shift Leader, a crucial role within the store that focuses on leading the team with professionalism and efficiency. This hourly role offers competitive pay ranging from $20.00 to $21.00 per hour, reflecting the responsibilities it entails. The Shift Leader acts as the key liaison between the store employees and management, overseeing daily operations and ensuring that food preparation, customer service, and store cleanliness meet Vitality Bowls’ high standards. This position requires an individual who is both organized and personable, with strong leadership skills to effectively delegate tasks, manage employees’ breaks, and handle customer concerns diplomatically.

The Shift Leader is expected to maintain an upbeat and informative demeanor while interacting with guests, providing detailed knowledge about the nutritional benefits of menu ingredients and preparation methods. This role plays an instrumental part in upholding the brand’s core principles, which include being friendly, fast, knowledgeable, a united team player, and proud of their work. Shift Leaders attend management meetings to keep abreast of new ideas and improvements, assist with interviewing, training, and evaluating staff, and ensure all safety, sanitation, and operational guidelines are rigorously followed.

In addition to leading the team and task delegation, the Shift Leader manages inventory and deliveries by checking completeness, issuing refunds when necessary, and communicating with managers regarding stock levels. They are also responsible for handling cash register operations, including managing petty cash and restocking change for the register nightly. Furthermore, this role requires constant communication with both team members and management to track food quality and maintain a smooth workflow. Exceptional customer service skills are essential, such as resolving issues professionally, providing accurate wait times, and creating memorable guest experiences that encourage repeat visits.

Job Requirements

  • Become food certified

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in leadership roles within food service or hospitality
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and certifications
  • Ability to operate POS and cash handling systems

Job Duties

  • Lead the team making sure food is made accurately and taken to customers in a timely manner
  • In charge of shifts and delegating tasks
  • Show exemplary knowledge of the job and excellent customer service
  • Deal with upset customers/problems with food in a polite way making sure the customer is happy
  • Accept deliveries making sure that deliveries are complete and correct or that refunds are issued
  • Communicate with managers/owners about status of inventory whether everything arrived on time and orders came complete and correct whether any items are running low
  • Check daily petty cash and go to bank for change if needed
  • Restock the register nightly for the correct change
  • Communicate with managers/owners about employees strengths and weaknesses dependability customer service etc
  • Manage break schedule making sure employees arrive on time and take appropriate breaks
  • Attend management meetings
  • Communicate with managers/owners about new ideas to improve efficiency safety new recipe ideas etc
  • Assist with interviews evaluations and training
  • Memorize training material and explain health benefits of ingredients and food to customers
  • Keep front lobby and outside area clean while checking on it every 15 minutes
  • Have excellent customer service including being positive polite and informative to customers and giving accurate wait times
  • Assist and ring up guests answer phone calls and take orders over phone
  • Have thorough knowledge of food and recipes follow recipes and make food in timely and sanitary manner
  • Prep food according to proper procedures
  • Continuously and thoroughly clean kitchen and lobby
  • Put away deliveries and keep everything organized
  • Wash dishes and put away
  • Communicate with other staff to ensure orders are made correctly and timely
  • Carry out food to customers
  • Communicate with managers about the schedule informing them in a timely manner of days off needed
  • Show up on time and take breaks for appropriate length
  • Complete all opening and closing duties
  • Perform additional tasks requested by manager
  • Follow sanitation guidelines
  • Stock and rotate food
