As a Shift Lead at Ziggi's Coffee, you will play a critical role in maintaining and promoting the company’s values every day. Shift Leads act as role models and the primary point of communication between employees, management, and store owners, continually driving performance, motivation, and customer satisfaction.

Shift Leads support the team by maintaining a positive work environment, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring that every customer interaction is consistent with Ziggi's Coffee’s high standards. This includes overseeing staff adherence to company policies, training new employees, and providing coaching and support to enhance team members' skills and confidence. The position requires problem-solving skills to address process deviations and customer concerns proactively, turning potential challenges into opportunities for positive outcomes.

Financial integrity is an essential component of the Shift Lead's role. Responsibilities include managing cash registers, balancing change boxes, handling safe drops, splitting tips, and managing daily deposits efficiently to ensure accurate financial reporting and accountability. Shift Leads are also responsible for preparing daily recaps of store performance metrics such as Sales Per Man Hour (SPMH) and deposit totals, which are critical in tracking success and identifying areas for improvement within the store.

Inventory management falls under your purview as well, with monthly assessments necessary to maintain appropriate stock levels and optimize the use of resources to prevent waste. Furthermore, Shift Leads play a role in enhancing the overall customer experience by creating and preserving a welcoming atmosphere, keeping the store clean and organized, and staying informed about new menu items, promotions, and seasonal offerings to keep both staff and customers engaged and up-to-date.

Job Duties

  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with staff, managers, and the store owner, ensuring that wins and opportunities for improvement are clearly articulated
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to company policies and procedures, upholding our core values at all times
  • Train new employees thoroughly and provide ongoing training, support, and coaching to current team members to enhance their skills and confidence
  • Address any process deviations proactively, correcting team members when necessary, and delegating tasks to maintain operational flow
  • Handle customer complaints with professionalism and empathy, striving to turn challenges into positive experiences
  • Accurately count registers, complete safe drops, balance the change box, split tips, and manage daily deposits to ensure financial integrity
  • Prepare and present a daily recap of store metrics, including deposit totals and Sales Per Man Hour (SPMH), to track performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Conduct monthly inventory assessments to ensure proper stock levels and efficient use of resources
