This particular role is a Shift Leader position that plays a crucial role in supporting the restaurant’s management team. The Shift Leader provides additional coverage during peak periods and in the absence of a Manager, ensuring smooth operational flow and exceptional guest service. This is a dynamic position that requires the candidate to manage various aspects of both the front and heart of the house teams, coordinate opening and closing procedures, and help coach team members to maximize performance. The Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining high standards in food quality, safety, guest satisfaction, and team member relations. They must carry out important administrative duties such as completing paperwork, conducting audits, and overseeing cash handling processes.

Additionally, the Shift Leader actively engages with guests throughout the shift by conducting table visits, addressing complaints, and ensuring 100% guest issue resolution. They facilitate effective communication through pre-shift meetings and shift highlights logging, and are tasked with operational readiness activities including line checks, quality service and cleanliness inspections, and monitoring labor and safety regulations. Job Duties

  • Ensure that 100% of table visits are performed and all guest issues are resolved throughout the shift
  • Lead and coach team member performance
  • Positively impact the achievement of sales and profits in the restaurant
  • Help provide support and direction for the front of house and heart of house teams
  • Open and close the restaurant, including all appropriate paperwork
  • Run a mid-shift
  • Perform shift change, including all appropriate paperwork
  • Break down cash drawers
  • Perform safe audits
  • Inspect credit cards
  • Complete Manager Absolutes
  • Perform comps, voids, and discounts and pull backs
  • Perform server check-outs
  • Document shift highlights in the daily communication log
  • Perform heart of house line checks
  • Perform bar line checks
  • Perform daily quality, service, and cleanliness checks
  • Monitor food quality, labor, and safety throughout the shift
  • Receive food orders, ensure proper product, food quality, food safety, and proper storage
  • Receive liquor orders, ensure proper products and proper storage
  • Conduct team member pre-shift meetings
  • Perform figure eights during peak periods
  • Address guest complaints in the restaurant
  • Assign cleaning duties to team members
  • Manage labor on the shift
  • Monitor guest and team member safety and security
  • Monitor responsible alcohol service
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
