The role of Assistant Kitchen Manager at goop Kitchen is pivotal to maintaining the high standards that define our culinary operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a fast-growing brand during an exciting phase of expansion. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will lead daily kitchen activities, ensuring the preparation and execution of dishes that meet goop Kitchen’s strict nutritional and quality guidelines. You will work closely with senior leadership, including the Sr. Director of Kitchen Operations and Area CDC, alongside an exceptional kitchen team to uphold the integrity and innovation of our menu offerings.
Responsibilities include managing daily kitchen operations, training and developing team members, ensuring compliance with health and sanitation regulations, and overseeing food and labor costs through data-driven approaches. Job Requirements
- Experience as an assistant kitchen manager, shift lead or BOH leader in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with SOP, procedures, and system implementation
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Computer savvy
- Highly organized, effective in a new restaurant opening environment
- Passion for sustainability and ingredient integrity
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- ServSafe certified
- Based in San Jose area

Job Duties
- Lead daily kitchen operations and uphold goop Kitchen’s culinary standards
- Train, coach, and develop a high-performing kitchen team
- Ensure recipe adherence, portion control, and consistent execution
- Maintain Health Department compliance, HACCP standards, and strict sanitation protocols
- Manage food and labor costs with a systems-driven approach
- Drive a culture of “Detect, Fix, Prevent” and continuous improvement
- Assist with ordering, invoices, weekly inventory and end of week financial reports
