Job Description
KFC Corporation is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its fried chicken and quick-service dining experience. As part of the broader portfolio of restaurants under the Northwest Restaurants family, KFC offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where team collaboration and customer satisfaction are top priorities. The company prides itself on creating a positive atmosphere for both employees and customers, emphasizing strong leadership, excellent customer service, and high food quality standards. Located at 115 SW Oak St., Hillsboro, OR, this KFC operates with a commitment to upholding the brand's reputation and ensuring consistent excellence in every shift.
The Team Member position at this location is a critical role designed to support the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) by effectively running great shifts in a self-sufficient manner. This role requires taking ownership and responsibility for the shift, solving problems independently while knowing when to seek guidance, and providing help and direction to fellow team members. The position is ideal for motivated individuals ready to work in a fast-paced setting and take on leadership duties that contribute to the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Responsibilities include ensuring consistent customer satisfaction by executing the Manager-In-Charge Success Routine, overseeing the completion of Shift Excellence tasks by team members, and maintaining the highest standards for food safety, quality, and order accuracy. The role involves greeting customers warmly, handling complaints swiftly to maintain positive relations, and working efficiently with a sense of urgency. Cooperation and teamwork are emphasized, as team members are expected to help peers and demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
Attendance and punctuality are essential, with the employee expected to report on time, in uniform, and ready to begin tasks while properly using the approved timekeeping system. The position calls for initiative and energy, encouraging team members to go beyond what is simply required to maintain a high activity level throughout their shift.
Another key aspect of the role is people development. The Team Member provides regular feedback to the RGM on other team members' performance, participates in ongoing training, and helps resolve conflicts constructively to foster a healthy work environment. Acting like an owner is also stressed, including assisting with profit and loss management through cash control and security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management. Additional duties encompass overseeing product preparation standards, facility maintenance, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
Applicants must meet certain requirements, including being at least 18 years old, passing background checks and drug tests, having reliable transportation, and possessing the physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and stoop for the majority of the shift. There is a strong preference for candidates promoted internally from the Hourly Champion position, highlighting opportunities for growth within the company.
Working an average of 30 or more hours per week, this position offers a flexible schedule depending on the operational needs of the business. KFC Corporation is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fair hiring practices regardless of race, gender, age, or any other protected status. Candidates are invited to join a reputable and supportive workplace that values customer service excellence and employee development.
