Job Description

Northwest Restaurants is a reputable dining establishment dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and quality food experiences across its range of restaurant locations. With a commitment to operational excellence and team development, Northwest Restaurants prides itself on fostering a dynamic work environment where employees can thrive and grow professionally. The company places a strong emphasis on adhering to high standards of food safety, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement, making it a leading name in the restaurant industry for both patrons and workers alike.

The role of supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) is a pivotal position designed to ensure the smooth operation of shifts by running them efficiently and autonomously. This position requires taking ownership of daily challenges and demonstrating a proactive approach to solving problems. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with team members and management, uphold the restaurant’s standards, and contribute positively to the customer experience. In this capacity, the individual acts as an extension of the management team, ensuring that every aspect of service meets the company’s high standards.

Key responsibilities include executing the Manager-In-Charge (MIC) Success Routine, which encompasses overseeing people, customers, and service elements during shifts. This means ensuring that all employees complete their designated Shift Excellence tasks, maintain a neat and professional appearance, and prioritize customer needs at all times. The role demands vigilance in food safety and order accuracy, quick resolution of customer complaints, and maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor while interacting with customers. Efficiency and urgency in work, cooperation with peers, and a positive attitude are also critical components.

Attendance and punctuality are essential, with expectations for adherence to the posted work schedule, proper use of the timekeeping system, and readiness to begin work on time. Initiative and energy are valued, encouraging proactive engagement beyond the basic requirements. Developing people is another integral aspect, involving providing regular constructive and complimentary feedback to team members, participating in their training, and assisting with conflict resolution alongside the RGM.

The role also involves supporting profit and loss management through following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor costs, and ensuring proper product handling standards. Assisting with facility maintenance and compliance with health and safety standards rounds out the duties. Employees typically work an average of 30 or more hours per week, with hours dependent on the operational needs of the business. The company reserves the right to revise job duties as necessary to meet evolving business requirements.

This position is ideal for individuals with a strong desire to advance within the restaurant industry, particularly those promoted internally from Hourly Champion positions. The successful candidate will be at least 18 years old, capable of passing background checks and drug screenings, and possess reliable transportation. Physical stamina is important due to the demands of standing, walking, lifting, and stooping during the majority of the shift. Overall, this role offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the restaurant’s success and to grow professionally within a supportive and engaging work environment.
