Job Description

KFC Corporation, a globally recognized leader in the fast-food industry, is a premier restaurant company specializing in fried chicken and a variety of complementary menu items. Known for its iconic secret recipe and commitment to quality, KFC operates numerous locations nationwide, including the location at 12124 NE Glisan St., Portland, OR. This location offers an inviting environment where customers can enjoy delicious meals in a friendly and efficient setting. As part of the broader Northwest Restaurants family of restaurant companies, KFC emphasizes excellence in customer service, operational efficiency, and team development.

This role is focused on supporting the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) by effectively running shifts with confidence and self-sufficiency. The opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about leadership in a fast-paced restaurant setting who are eager to take ownership of their responsibilities. The position requires a proactive attitude towards problem-solving, ensuring that customer needs are prioritized at all times while maintaining high standards in food safety, service, and team cooperation. Team members in this role are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance, work energetically, and foster a positive atmosphere among co-workers.

Successful candidates will be involved in various operational aspects such as overseeing the completion of Shift Excellence tasks, executing the Manager-In-Charge Success Routine, and ensuring compliance with company policies related to employee conduct and food handling. They will also engage in customer relations, addressing and resolving complaints quickly to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty. Participation in staff development is a key part of the role, with responsibilities including providing constructive feedback, participating in training sessions, and handling workplace conflicts professionally.

This position demands physical stamina to perform tasks that include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and stocking shelves and coolers during most of the shift. It also caters to motivated individuals who are looking to grow within the company, with a strong preference for internal promotion from the Hourly Champion position. The job typically offers over 30 hours per week, with additional hours possible based on operational needs. Employees must be at least 18 years old and meet other employment criteria such as passing a background check and drug test, and having reliable transportation.

In addition to contributing to daily restaurant operations and customer service excellence, team members in this role display ownership mentality by assisting with profit-and-loss management, cash control, inventory, labor management, and facility maintenance. Maintaining health and safety standards is paramount, and other duties may be assigned by the manager as needed. KFC is committed to equal opportunity employment and values diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Employment offers may be contingent upon background checks and proof of eligibility to work. While this position is at a corporate-owned or franchised location, applicants should understand that franchisees independently manage their employment practices.
