As a Shift Lead at Whistle, you will play a critical role in ensuring that every shift at the site runs smoothly and efficiently. This position involves supporting the team on the ground, engaging with customers to provide a welcoming and informative experience, and maintaining the quality and safety standards that define Whistle’s reputation. You will act as the key point of contact in the absence of the management team, stepping up to lead daily operations and resolve any challenges that arise during your shift. Your responsibilities will span from direct customer interaction and sales promotion to overseeing safe vehicle operations and equipment monitoring.

This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and who can lead by example. As a Shift Lead, you will be expected to uphold Whistle’s quality assurance standards, known as the "Sparkle Assurance," by inspecting every vehicle before and after washing to ensure nothing is missed. You will also be responsible for driving team performance, delegating tasks, and providing constructive feedback to team members to ensure consistent delivery of excellent service. Maintaining safety protocols is paramount to protect staff, customers, and equipment, and you will be actively involved in monitoring and enforcing these measures.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in customer service or retail environment
  • Ability to lead and manage a team during shifts

  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends

Job Duties

  • Greet customers and provide a positive friendly experience
  • Answer customer questions about services wash options and memberships
  • Promote unlimited wash memberships and other offerings
  • Educate new customers on wash packages and services
  • Observe customer interactions and provide feedback
  • Direct vehicles safely into the wash tunnel
  • Prepare vehicles for washing by checking for loose items
  • Monitor equipment and report malfunctions
  • Follow and enforce safety protocols
  • Assist team with operational issues
  • Serve as key holder and perform opening and closing procedures
  • Lead the team during shifts in management absence
  • Delegate tasks to team members
  • Monitor team performance and provide guidance
  • Handle unexpected challenges and escalate as needed
  • Inspect vehicles before and after wash according to quality standards
  • Uphold the Sparkle Assurance by checking for missed spots or streaks
  • Report operational issues affecting wash quality
