Job Description

They are currently seeking a Shift Lead to join their team and contribute to maintaining these high standards while supporting the daily operations of their car wash locations.

As a Shift Lead at Whistle, you will play an essential role in ensuring that every shift runs efficiently and effectively to provide exceptional customer service. This leadership position requires you to support and lead the team during shifts, particularly in the absence of the Site Leader or Assistant Site Leader. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with customers, assist with daily operational tasks, uphold the site’s quality and safety standards, and help the team overcome any challenges that arise. The Shift Lead role is pivotal in driving customer satisfaction through both direct interaction and by maintaining smooth operational workflows.

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a customer-facing environment and possesses strong leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for greeting customers, answering their questions about services and memberships, promoting the company’s unlimited wash memberships, and educating new customers on available wash packages. Furthermore, you will keep a close watch on wash processes to ensure vehicles meet Whistle’s "Sparkle Assurance" quality standards, inspecting each vehicle before and after washing to identify any issues such as missed spots or streaks.

Operationally, you will direct vehicles safely into the wash tunnels, monitor equipment status, and enforce all safety and operational protocols to protect both customers and employees. You will also assist in resolving any operational problems that arise swiftly and efficiently. As a key holder, part of your duties includes performing opening and closing procedures accurately and on time, delegating tasks to the team, and providing ongoing guidance and feedback to ensure optimal performance.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a customer-facing role

  • Basic technical skills for monitoring equipment
  • Reliable transportation to and from the work site

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Greet customers and provide a positive friendly experience
  • Answer customer questions about services wash options and memberships clearly and courteously
  • Promote unlimited wash memberships and other offerings to drive engagement and sales
  • Educate new customers on the variety of wash packages and services available
  • Observe customer interactions to identify opportunities to enhance service and provide feedback to the team
  • Direct vehicles safely into the wash tunnel ensuring proper positioning for a smooth process
  • Prepare vehicles for washing by checking for loose items and removing obstacles as needed
  • Monitor equipment during operations identifying and reporting any malfunctions or issues
  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols to protect customers team members and equipment
  • Assist team members in resolving operational issues quickly to keep the site running efficiently
  • Serve as a key holder and perform opening and closing procedures accurately and on time
  • Lead the team during shifts providing direction and support in the absence of management
  • Delegate tasks to team members to ensure smooth site operations throughout the shift
  • Monitor team performance and provide guidance or feedback as needed to keep operations on track
  • Handle unexpected challenges or staff issues during the shift escalating to leadership when necessary
  • Inspect each vehicle before and after the wash to ensure it meets quality standards
  • Uphold the Sparkle Assurance by checking for missed spots streaks or any other issues
  • Report any equipment or operational issues that could affect wash quality
  • Provide feedback or guidance to team members to help maintain consistent wash quality
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes to exceed customer expectations
