The Shift Leader plays a pivotal role in maintaining the operational standards and vibrant atmosphere that define Buffalo Wild Wings. The Shift Leader is responsible for inspiring legendary experiences between friends, promoting a sense of happiness and community among guests, and delivering excellent hospitality. Beyond guest interaction, the Shift Leader coordinates with the management team to implement staffing plans, enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the restaurant. This role also involves managing the financial aspects of the shift, including achieving sales and profit targets by controlling labor costs and cost of sales. The Shift Leader ensures strict adherence to company policies and legal requirements, especially concerning food handling, alcohol dispensing, and PCI compliance for credit card transactions.
Key duties include conducting thorough guest interactions through 100% table visits, effectively handling any complaints for customer satisfaction, leading team meetings to build camaraderie and gather feedback, and overseeing human resource management to maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies. The role requires managing multiple projects, staying organized and detail-oriented, and demonstrating strong communication skills. Shift Leaders are also responsible for ensuring quality standards by adhering to standardized recipes and monitoring food delivery accuracy within the restaurant. They support the rollout of new programs, policies, and procedures as needed. Physically, the role demands standing and walking for extended periods, lifting items up to 25 pounds, and other activities that require physical stamina and dexterity. Candidates with at least two years of restaurant management experience, proper food handler and alcohol dispensing certifications, and preferably a college degree are ideal for this role. The position demands a self-starting, energetic individual with a genuine desire to serve customers and a passion for continuous learning and team collaboration.
