The role of Shift Lead at Sandwich Kings, LLC is a critical position within the restaurant, offering part-time employment opportunities with shifts available throughout the day, including first (day), second (afternoon), and third (night). This position reports directly to the General Manager or Assistant Manager and is designed for candidates passionate about leadership, team coordination, and operational excellence. The Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the restaurant during their shifts, ensuring that all activities align with the company’s goals and values while maintaining profitable operation.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • previous supervisory and hospitality industry experience preferred
  • at least 18 years of age
  • ability to withstand work conditions in temperatures from 0F to 100F
  • ability to move throughout the restaurant for extended periods
  • capable of moving 50 pounds for a distance of up to 10 feet
  • ability to balance and move up to 25 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet
  • must demonstrate excellent guest service skills
  • ability to take direction and delegate responsibilities
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • team oriented, adaptable, dependable, and strong work ethic
  • ability to communicate effectively

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Delegate duties and fairly assign specific tasks to ensure team members are prepared for guests
  • contributes to a team environment by recognizing and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments
  • follow inventory control procedures and guidelines
  • follow all Capriotti’s procedures and operational policies including cash handling, sanitation, and safety/security
  • assist with labor management costs
  • act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote Capriotti’s values and culture
  • demonstrate proficiency in all areas of shop operations to assist where needed
  • maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shop including dining room, restrooms, cold stations, grill and prep areas
  • work as a team to prepare for each shift
  • manage time effectively while meeting all job responsibilities
  • maintain a positive work environment for team members and guests
  • greet guests to make them feel welcome and comfortable
  • prepare and role model all Capriotti’s menu items according to standards
  • oversee food quality production of others
  • follow sanitation and safety procedures including knife handling and kitchen equipment
  • maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
