As a Shift Lead at Flynn Fitness, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining this high-standard environment. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Shift Lead supervises and supports coworkers throughout their shifts, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Managing team dynamics effectively is critical in upholding the club’s high performance, quality standards, and the welcoming culture Planet Fitness is known for. Your leadership will help foster a vibrant, energetic atmosphere within the Judgement Free Zone, making every customer’s visit enjoyable and productive.
Key responsibilities include organizing shift schedules, monitoring attendance and punctuality, assigning tasks aligned with employees’ skills, and providing hands-on supervision. You'll be pivotal in training new hires and offering continuous coaching to current team members, ensuring everyone performs at their best. Furthermore, handling customer concerns promptly and managing conflicts diplomatically contribute to sustaining excellent customer service standards.
The role also demands vigilance in upholding health, safety, and employment standards, protecting member information with utmost integrity, and maintaining the physical cleanliness and maintenance of the club. The Shift Lead will also be involved in executing retail transactions accurately, promoting club sales goals, and adhering to PCI compliance policies.
Physically, this position requires the ability to stand for long durations, move throughout the facility frequently, and lift or carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Flexibility for tasks involving bending, reaching, and kneeling is essential, alongside comfort working amidst the ambient noise and activity of a busy fitness center. Safety is paramount, and appropriate protocols and protective gear will be provided when handling cleaning products or other potentially hazardous materials.
