The Shift Lead role at Flynn Fitness is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility during shifts by supervising and supporting team members, promoting a positive work atmosphere aligned with the Judgment Free Zone philosophy. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Shift Lead oversees coworker performance, enforces organizational policies, and delegates tasks efficiently to maintain high standards of quality, performance, and safety. This leadership position demands a dynamic individual capable of managing team dynamics, handling customer interactions with care and empathy, and promoting an energetic and welcoming environment. The Shift Lead is instrumental in training staff, addressing and resolving conflicts, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the club. Physical activity is a notable component of this role, requiring the ability to stand for lengthy periods, engage in frequent walking, and undertake tasks involving lifting, bending, and reaching. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in supervisory or leadership position preferred
  • strong customer service orientation
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • problem-solving skills
  • ability to motivate and lead a team
  • knowledge of company policies and safety standards
  • physical capability to perform job-related duties including standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 pounds, and walking extensively
  • willingness to work in a noisy, active fitness environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Organizing shift schedules for team members
  • monitoring attendance, tardiness, and time off
  • assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills
  • supervising employees and assisting with tasks as necessary
  • supervise performance and sharing feedback with both upper management and team members
  • training new and current team members on tasks
  • handling customer issues and managing conflicts
  • adhering to company policies and health, safety and employment standards
  • upholding integrity and security with member documents and sensitive information always
  • managing club cleanliness and maintenance to ensure all aspects of the club are in like new condition
  • execute retail transactions with accuracy and drive sales goals in compliance with our PCI policy
