Job Description
Leslie's Pool Supplies, founded in 1963, stands as the largest and most trusted direct-to-consumer brand in the U.S. pool and spa care industry. With over 60 years of experience, Leslie's serves the aftermarket needs of both residential and professional consumers by offering an extensive and largely exclusive assortment of essential pool and spa care products. The company has a broad operational footprint including an integrated ecosystem of more than 900 retail locations, backyard service and repair teams, a robust digital platform, and cohesive manufacturing and distribution divisions across 35+ states. This vast network enables customers to engage with Leslie's anytime and in any way that suits them, whether online or in-store. Leslie's commitment to delivering best-in-class products and outstanding customer service has built a loyal customer base and a reputation for excellence.
Leslie’s prides itself on fostering a positive, fun, and inclusive workplace culture where its team members feel valued, empowered, and motivated to contribute to the overall success of the company. The company actively invests in the development and growth of its team, recognizing that its people are the key to sustainable success.
The role of Shift Lead 1 at Leslie’s is designed for individuals eager to cultivate leadership skills within a dynamic retail environment. This position is pivotal in supporting store performance to ensure that customer service standards are met or exceeded, sales goals are achieved, profit margins are maintained, and all merchandising and operational objectives are accomplished efficiently. As a Shift Lead 1, you will work closely with the General Manager to understand store operations, including sales plans, profit and loss management, payroll, and expense control.
Beyond operational duties, the Shift Lead 1 will also be hands-on with customer service by conducting water analysis and mechanical repairs, activities essential to the pool and spa care service experience. This role emphasizes increasing both commercial and residential sales while promoting a welcoming environment for all customers. Leadership responsibilities also extend to maintaining safety protocols, assisting with merchandising and inventory control, and potentially handling opening and closing store duties, which may include managing the daily bank deposit.
This hourly position offers competitive pay ranging from $17.50 to $19.50, with final compensation determined by experience, education, skills, and alignment with market data. In this role, you will gain valuable experience in retail management, customer engagement, and operational best practices. Leslie’s provides resources and training aimed at helping you grow within the company, including succession program placement opportunities for those demonstrating leadership potential.
