As a Shift Leader at Five Guys, you will be more than just a supervisor; you will be a hands-on leader who sets the tone and energy for each shift. Shift Leaders are entrusted with running shift operations in the absence of management, taking the lead in all facets of restaurant activity from the dining room to the kitchen. You will be stepping into every position when necessary, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room duties, ensuring no task is too small to merit your attention. Your leadership will directly affect the guest experience, making sure it is fast, accurate, and personable every time.

The role involves coaching, supporting, and motivating crew members to excel in their responsibilities and building a team culture that is strong and positive. You will also help train new team members, reinforcing brand standards related to cleanliness, safety, and operational procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities extend to managing shift tasks such as handling cash, organizing breaks, and completing closing reports.
