Job Description

The Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown is a luxurious hotel situated just two blocks from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, offering convenient access to cultural landmarks such as Love Park, the Franklin Institute, and the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art. This establishment features 759 reimagined guest rooms equipped with comfortable beds and breathtaking views of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, a cultural boulevard in the heart of Philadelphia. The hotel caters to both leisure and business travelers, providing a newly renovated fitness center with Peloton bikes, a welcoming Terrace restaurant and bar, and a cozy coffee shop known as the Local. With 58,000 square feet of flexible event space, the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown specializes in hosting conventions, board meetings, and various celebrations, functioning as a premier venue for numerous prestigious gatherings.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Banquets House Person to join our energetic team during the overnight shift from 11 pm to 7 am. The Banquets House Person plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that every banquet and event runs seamlessly. This position requires a candidate who is passionate about maintaining cleanliness, organizing supplies, and setting up banquet spaces to perfection. As the key individual responsible for the preparation and upkeep of banquet areas, you will work closely with the banquet and event staff to transform event spaces to meet high standards of presentation and safety.

The role encompasses various responsibilities ranging from setting up banquet rooms with attention to detail to breaking down setups efficiently after events conclude. You will be the cleanliness crusader, making sure floors, carpets, windows, and all areas are spotless for incoming guests. In addition, you will manage storerooms, keeping supplies organized and replenished to anticipate the needs of ongoing and upcoming events. Safety is paramount, and the Banquets House Person serves as a safety sentinel, ensuring all safety protocols and hazard spotting measures are adhered to, contributing to a secure environment for guests and staff alike.

This position suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate quick, accurate decision-making abilities while remaining calm under pressure. Prior hotel experience is preferred but not necessarily required, as full training will be provided. The overnight shift offers a unique opportunity to be part of the vibrant hospitality scene in Philadelphia while enjoying a competitive benefits package after an initial waiting period. This package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, short-term and long-term disability income, term life and AD&D insurance, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. Notably, daily pay is now offered, providing greater flexibility and financial convenience.
