Job Description

SHEEP at Clayton is an innovative culinary concept brought to life by James Beard Award-winning Chef Kelly Whitaker and the talented team behind The Wolf's Tailor. This unique dining experience is hosted as a limited three-month residency situated atop the Clayton Hotel & Members Club in the vibrant Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver. Rooted deeply in the principles of fire-driven cooking, seasonality, craftsmanship, and genuine hospitality, SHEEP offers a distinctive atmosphere that celebrates culinary artistry through an open hearth and a carefully curated four-course tasting menu. This menu provides guests with choices, allowing them to explore a harmonious blend of ingredients, stories, and traditions in a style that promises an immersive and unforgettable night out, unlike any other dining option available in Denver.

The role at SHEEP is designed for passionate hospitality professionals eager to contribute to and thrive in a chef-driven kitchen environment. Available as a back-of-house team member, this position demands individuals who can uphold the highest level of consistency, quality, and efficiency across food preparation and service. Team members work closely with the culinary leadership to prepare, cook, and artfully plate dishes that reflect the vision and exceptional standards synonymous with SHEEP. Candidates who join this team will benefit from the opportunity to collaborate with one of the nation's most celebrated and innovative culinary teams while playing an integral role in launching one of Denver's most anticipated and talked-about limited residency dining experiences.

Beyond its elite culinary focus, working at SHEEP provides an exciting opportunity to grow within an environment that prioritizes education, teamwork, and professional development. Candidates with backgrounds in chef-driven restaurants, fine dining, tasting menu services, or high-volume kitchens offering quality meals will find themselves well-prepared to succeed and grow here. The experience is not only about delivering exceptional food; it is about understanding the broader narrative of hospitality excellence, including storytelling and the guest experience from start to finish. Employees at SHEEP hold a commitment to maintaining highest sanitation and safety standards, flourishing in a fast-paced environment that values both individual skill and a collaborative approach.

As part of the Makeready collection and the Clayton Hotel & Members Club, SHEEP offers its team members a comprehensive package including competitive wages, gratuities, and employee dining privileges. It also values employee well-being by providing extensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan among other offerings. Working here means joining a company that prides itself on inclusivity, equality, and supporting team members to be their authentic selves while succeeding based on talent and dedication. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as it caters to a dynamic dining schedule aimed at delivering reliable, superb service to all guests.
